The Best Youtube Channel Name Ideas
What makes a good YouTube name? If nothing else, the name has to be meaningful and memorable. There are many ways you can achieve this. The name you choose often depends on the niche you’re in and the topics you cover. People like different name types in various niches.
Lifestyle, fitness, and gaming YouTubers often use descriptive names where they name their channels after their personal names. Or they simply describe the kind of topics they cover on their channels. Some people understand that they can stand out by being different, so they pick metaphorical or made-up names.
There are no rules when it comes to naming your YouTube channel. But how important are YouTube names anyway? Your Channel Name appears on your videos, your channel page, and in YouTube’s search results. The name defines your channel even before people see your content. Things to Keep In Mind When Creating Best YouTube Channel Names
Tips for Generating Youtube Channel Name Ideas
We already mentioned a lot of tricks and tips you can use when naming your YouTube channel. The most important thing you need to keep in mind is to make the name as relevant and memorable as possible. This will help people remember your name and recommend your content to their friends.
Another thing we need to consider when creating the best YouTube channel names is availability. The trust is that there are millions of channels out there and finding a name that’s still available is no easy task. First, we need to be aware different people and brands can use the same name on YouTube. That means that even if you’re the first person to register the name, this doesn’t prevent someone else to use the same name. That’s unless you decide to trademark the name, but most YouTubers don’t do that.
The easiest way to search for availability is to use the YouTube search bar and select channels in the results filter. If the search for your desired name returns any channel with active subscribers you should probably go with another name. But what if you find out that there already is a channel that uses the name you picked but they either aren’t active or if they only have a couple of subscribers? Well, that’s not an easy question to answer. If you absolutely love the name, then you can probably stick with it. But, if you think you can find another name that is equally good and doesn’t yet exist on the platform, then we suggest you go with the one that’s unique.
What about domain names? Do you need available domains for your YouTube channel? It’s not necessary, but it doesn’t hurt if the channel name you picked has available domains. Your channel might go viral and you need a website to create your own merchandise store. While we don’t recommend deciding on a YouTube name based on domain availability, it doesn’t hurt to check if the domains are available when registering your channel name.
Besides meaning and availability, you also have to make sure you pick names that are easy to remember, pronounce, and spell. It’s usually best if you avoid numbers in the names because they can be written two different ways (86 or eighty-six). Misspelled words are another no-go because they confuse the viewers and aren’t very memorable. Try to keep the names as clean and catchy as possible.
